Description
Amador Whiskey Co. built its name on one idea: take a good Kentucky-style bourbon and give it a second life in Napa Valley wine barrels. That’s the “double barrel” in the name. The whiskey is first matured in new charred oak, then transferred to medium-toast French oak casks from Napa wine country to finish — a step that sets it apart from a standard bourbon and gives the spirit its signature depth.
The result is rich and layered. Vanilla and caramel lead, backed by toasted oak and a crème brûlée sweetness, with a whisper of dark fruit from the wine-cask finish and a gentle spice that carries through a long, smooth close. It drinks like a bourbon that’s been given extra time and thought rather than rushed to the shelf.
Pour it neat or over a single large cube to let those layers open up — this is a sipping bourbon first. It also brings genuine character to an Old Fashioned or Manhattan if you’d rather mix. This is the 750ml bottle from Amador’s California distillery.
